Note: I’m a brazilian lawyer and my native language is PT-BR. The text bellow was translated with chatgpt help: So, it finally happened to me. I hit 88% of the limit in 51 minutes, tried to complete a few quick additional tasks, and it simply froze with that misleading error message. I’m a lawyer, a Max 5x subscriber, and I use Claude as a coworker—basically relying on Sonnet for data consultation (files in .docx and .md) and Opus to create skills and review work. Reaching 88% of the 5-hour Max 5x window for standard office work is absolutely problematic. I simply cannot believe this is intentional. I’m not going to subscribe to the 20x plan if that’s Anthropic’s idea, especially since I already chose the 5x because it seemed to offer good value. With 5x, I had never even come close to any limit since I subscribed in February. Since then, much of what I’ve done has been optimizing .md files and creating skills, following best practices to reduce token usage—and now everything has suddenly collapsed. I’ve lost confidence. It’s as if today’s Max 5x has become what the Pro plan was 60 days ago. I do have the financial means to subscribe to Max 20x, but the math just doesn’t add up. How can I, as a lawyer doing standard office work that is almost entirely text-based, hit the limit so easily? Something is wrong. (end of chatgpt translation) So, what do i do? Its not coding, its not creating or analysing big datas, its office tasks. Im so mad.

Edit: (from PT-BR to EN-US asking to chatgpt by me, because i use translate here to read): Thank you very much for everyone’s help. I had genuinely panicked because I thought this might be the new reality of using Claude as a coworker. Some users gave me helpful tips, and others shared similar issues, mentioning that Anthropic had already acknowledged certain problems involving the Claude desktop app. Thank you for listening to me and for your support—you are an excellent community. Together, we are stronger. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Muito obrigado, amigos. submitted by /u/No_Lavishness_9120
