I’m tired of people white knighting for a multi billion dollar company. When Anthropic changes usage limits on a whim for peak hours it’s a total bait and switch. The narrative that we’re getting “subsidized” compute compared to API prices is just a corporate shield used to shut down legitimate complaints. Subsidized to what though? The API pricing? Claude has one of the highest priced APIs out there so comparing the sub to that is a joke. They aren’t “unprofitable” because of my vibe coding sessions. They’re unprofitable because they took on billions in debt to win the 50 trillion dollar AGI lottery. That’s a venture capital problem not a reason to squeeze paying users. The marginal cost of a prompt is tiny and even the 20 dollar monthly subs are high margin products once you ignore their R&D debt service. Plus investors value our stable recurring income way more than spiky usage revenue. We aren’t charity cases we’re the floor their valuation is built on.
