There is no bolt metal progression. It’s either BIS or some low tier metal. The only useful bolt types are stuck at adamant, which is a whopping -19 range strength loss. Opal tips (good for pking) are only usable for bronze bolts, and sapphire tips (good for Muspah) can be used on mithril bolts. Rune bolts meanwhile have a pretty much useless and very expensive gem, and are used almost nowhere. Let us attach any gems to rune bolts! EDIT : The issue I’m trying to tackle is forwards progression, i.e. adding lower bolt tips to better bolts, just like you can to dragon. Backwards progression makes sense to keep it as is. So opal can go on rune bolts (just like it can on dragon bolts), but ruby can’t go on bronze, only addy+ bolts. submitted by /u/raki_star
