Expeditions are a new type of training method aimed to incorporate traditional PvM and Skilling into the sailing skill The training loop involves obtaining expedition orders and going out into a procedurally generated area with a range of islands that you’ll need to navigate to on your boat and then complete objectives for points of interest on the island. There are different regions where these expeditions are started to convey skill level progression. Points of interest can involve either a single point or multiple points that include PvM encounters, and or Skilling resources, and or charting. Once an islands objective is complete, you then sail onto the next island until you arrive at a final destination island involving a major point of interest. Navigating between islands can involve multiple routes. Scenic routes that can include random events such as trawling, world bosses, etc. Direct routes are quicker but often more dangerous and involve mobs like sharks, krakens, and obstacles akin to ones you’d find in trials. Rewards. Once completing an expedition, the player is awarded a large amount of sailing experience along with all the loot they’ve banked in the main ships cargo along the way, which can be turned in for rewards or kept. Reward shop features things like resources for sailing such as nails, hull parts, planks specific to sailing, a Skilling outfit that functions like the other Skilling outfits but for sailing, and specific gear depending on the type (difficulty) of expedition you’re doing. submitted by /u/rabidai
