I’m asking this question because I am a white-looking Canadian-Dutch man and my wife is a Javanese woman from Indonesia. We have not started a family yet but we are planning to do it next year. Our children will have to learn four languages just to be able to communicate with both families. I sometimes worry that they will grow up feeling like they don’t truly belong anywhere at all. Is my fear justified? If yes, what I can do to try to prevent this outcome for their future? I guess I’m looking for people who have had a similar life experience. submitted by /u/ScienceTeacher1994
