About a month ago a guy at the gym smiled and tried to start a conversation with me, I panicked and left pretty abruptly which in hindsight probably made it look like I was uncomfortable or not interested even though I was just anxious and awkward. Now when I see him he avoids eye contact and keeps his distance, I actually appreciate it cuz it feels respectful but now the situation is awkward cuz I didn’t mean to be rude that day. Sometimes I feel like I catch him looking and then he looks away quickly which makes me wonder if he is avoiding me cuz he thinks I am not intimidating or he is just trying to be respectful and not bother me? So I am curious from a guy’s perspective if you tried to talk to a girl once and she basically ran off, and then later you see her again at the same place would you avoid her because you assume she is not interested?
