I don’t really get it, as a man and a cyclist I get comments about how “gay” and “pussy” it is from both men and women. In other contexts, using your own body to accomplish things rather than relying on outside help is very manly, as is taking risks and putting your body on the line for the goal (see athletes combat sports etc). But yet somehow on the bike, where I’m doing both of those, it’s far less masculine than the guy in the pickup truck who is surrounded by a metal safety cage and is using only his foot to move forward. submitted by /u/LiatrisLover99
