this is a cautionary tale rather than a badge of honor! so for the past 6 months i’ve been hacking away at my first ever app!! it has been super rewarding to see it through, and i use it every day! but it came at a cost… i’ve been coming back from work, i cook, do chores and then claude code till around midnight, then i say to myself that i’ll start wrapping up… but then there’s always this “one more thing”! so then at ~3am i actually go to bed. and wake up at 9ish. rinse and repeat. this was great, up till around a month ago when i started getting this headache that just would never go away. i kept hacking, and took tylenol when it got out of hand (dumb i know). last week, on top of this chronic weeks-long headache and i started getting light headed and brain fogged at work. on the verge of passing out. so i went to see a neurologist yesterday, pretty obvious what the cause of my headaches is in my case, but i have an MRI scheduled to be sure. he really talked me out of this addiction and the need to touch grass, medically speaking lol for those in a similar boat, doctors order were:

  • target 8 hours sleep, no screen time an hour before bed
  • magnesium glycinate an hour before bed
  • riboflavin in the morning
  • yoga can help reduce headaches looking forward to be headache free and touch grass for a few days!! tldr: i claude coded at the expense of my sleep and ended up with a chronic headache. look after your bodies folks! submitted by /u/gnano22
