I just found out from my cousin about some stuff they saw on my little sister’s social media status since her status is being hidden from me. What I found out were: She posted a screenshot of her texting someone older than her, she calls them “abang” which is a term mostly used to refer to a male person who’s older than you. The thing is “abang” can refer to people who’re a year older than you or even 10 years older than you. She posted the picture with a caption along the lines of “Ahhh my crush is talking to me(insert emoji)”, something like that, you get what I mean. In the text, she clearly mentions HER giving said person a bit of money as a gift and some kind of picture. The account she was texting had 1 follower and no pictures whatsoever, like a throwaway account, so we couldn’t grasp what age the person might be in. Also, she outrights call them handsome which I kinda cringed at with how forward she was being and the person reciprocated by saying that she’s very pretty. She also posted about a Thai BL(Boy’s love) movie that I’ve heard from a friend, contains actual softcore porn. Talking to an older guy whose age is unknown? Also, gifts are fine I guess? but straight up giving them money and some kind of picture? she’s not even dating the guy. I’m just very scared that she might be easily manipulated into doing something she might regret or that she gets taken advantage of. Maybe I’m overthinking it but as the eldest and only brother, it scares me, my heart literally dropped. Please I need advice on how to approach this. She’s 14, she shouldn’t be chasing after some older guy and giving them money. Money my parents worked hard on getting, money that she’s supposed to spend on her needs like food, clothes, etc, not giving it away to someone else just because she has a crush on them. submitted by /u/Winning_winner001
