Hey everyone i’m a bit conflicted. I’m 26 and had a good job in project management until last year when I suddenly fell ill then developed sudden disabilities and i’m now 100% disabled. I’m still waiting for the IV while getting paid by insurance (I have a year left) My disabilities are purely physical (on most days I am bedridden and can’t move, maybe once a month I can go out of the house if i’m lucky enough). And you guessed it I got fired right before I got the diagnosis for “financial reasons” but I already had issues with my boss before because I couldn’t go to office in person and had to do home office due to illness. My job did not require office presence whatsoever. Even though physically I am unable to move but my brain still works pretty well and I can get work done from my bed. Learning is my super power I can learn anything very quickly and actually be good at it. What are my options here? What can I do while i’m waiting in bed to be able to find a good paying job longterm? The Berufsberatung suggested I do an IT Ausbildung but from the way I see the job market and layoffs and AI I seriously doubt i’ll find a job in 4 years. I do still want to have a salary that helps me sustain myself and have financial security and freedom which the IV might not be able to provide. Most importantly I feel like I am able to work and excel at it. I honestly cannot imagine spending the rest of my life without working. I appreciate any tip or suggestion! submitted by /u/Winter-Adeptness-346
