I, like everyone else, was victim to the burn-thropic limit rate burn this week and was about to go Max20 when something happened that stopped me cold. I had Opus build a plan on a set of architectural decisions we had made and after a full review it decided to throw out our guidance doc and do it’s own thing instead - and didn’t say a word about it to me. Obviously when reading the plan (I hope we all read the plans?) I immediately saw that it had just dumped things like: Migrate QDRANT --> BigQuery Vectors I had to dump the whole plan & yes, also, the giant codebase context that had wiped out my session limit with it - what a waste! Redid the plan using Codex 5.4 and it was perfect. Implementation done overnight and within Codex limits. So, thanks for the free credit coupon this morning Anthropic - it does help with the rate burn issue… But, now you need to make me trust Opus again. How do we do that? Anyone else not happy with current Claude-Code behaviour over and above the crazy burn? submitted by /u/kotchinsky
