Genuine question. I keep seeing people say using API credits is cheaper than Pro/Max, but I can’t wrap my head around it. My experience was the opposite. When I ran out of usage on my subscription and topped up with extra credits, Opus burned through money way faster than I expected. On the subscription, even after hitting the limit, another 5-hour window would kick in. That felt like a much better deal. So what are these people actually doing? Are they just using Haiku or Sonnet instead of Opus? Because for anyone using Opus heavily with long conversations, I genuinely can’t see how pay-per-token beats a flat subscription.
