Last year (March 1st & 2nd, 2025) at the 2025 RuneFest Summit Mod Gengis presented three major updates for the mobile client ( 2025 RuneFest Mobile Announcements ) that were planned to release Summer 2025 and listed on the Official OSRS Roadmap for 2025. The updates were 1. Seamless Crossplay between clients via enhanced performance on OSRS mobile, 2. HD graphics coming to OSRS mobile, and 3. Introduction of a community-driven plugin ecosystem on OSRS mobile driven by a new official Plugin API. Since this announcement Mod Gengis has left Jagex and there have not been any significant status updates detailing the current state of these three mobile updates. My understanding is there is still a development team working on these topics still but right now it isn’t totally clear if this is still a high priority since it was not mentioned at the Winter Summit on the 2026 Official OSRS Roadmap ( Wiki Page for Summit Announcements ). I really believe HD and Plugins on mobile stand to radically improve the already good experience on phones and tablets and I think this could be one of the most high-impact client-level updates to OSRS to ever release. I wanted to ask if anyone has heard any status updates regarding these three updates, especially as it relates to providing a new release date timeline. Mod Gengis mentioned that there were potentially roadblocks in implementing the new renderer replacing the old Java one. It would also be great to understand if this is the major obstacle preventing release or if it is something else! As always any information is much appreciated! submitted by /u/robedude
