IMO, Everyone is weird during puperty, but the main work is probably done before puperty hits.

Parents act reasonable in everyday situations and under stress as well as explaining it from time to time.

Parents explain to not be a dick to people, because you don’t want to be treated the same and although your parents ACT that way too. I think it is although important to point out bad behaviour of others and discuss/explain why it is bad behaviour. Not always, no need to be preachy.
