This is not to dismiss anyone’s experience, rather it’s more about my own frustration. I also understand that there might be an AB test and that I might be lucky not to be in the bad side at the moment. When I was using pro, I hit the 5-hour limit pretty often which prompted me to upgrade to max 5x, but since then, I only hit rate limit once and often average only 35% of the 5h limit, 30% of the weekly limit. This makes me feel like crap that I am leaving money on the table. Here’s my set up:

  • I’m a data scientist/ML engineer, working mostly on modeling, data processing, etc. (So not traditional SWE). One use case I thought would use a lot of token is autonomous model tuning (like autoresearch) turns out to barely use any token at all.
  • it’s my personal account so I use it mostly off peak hour, at least 6h/day
  • I don’t use agent swarm, I do use subagents but only for research tasks, which is like once or twice a week. The reason is because I tried and feel like the results were faster but not as high quality as if I only use the main agent.
  • most of the projects are simple personal repo
  • I must admit that I do review the work, but only high-level, not line-by-line, so I don’t think I’m the bottleneck in this instance.
  • I try to push up my usage by working on multiple projects at the same time, but the API just seems to respond slowly and usage barely double. What am I missing here? Any tips that help using more of zthe token budget? submitted by /u/Pancake502
