Hey, looking for some honest input from people using Claude Code. Here’s my situation: I code mainly on weekends and occasionally at night, so my usage is pretty sporadic and bursty. At work I have unlimited Copilot access, but I can’t use that for personal projects, so I need to find something for side work. I’m already using Claude for other stuff and really prefer Anthropic’s models, so the idea of Claude Code appeals to me on that level. But here’s where I’m stuck. Claude Code is twice the price of Copilot Pro (20 dollars versus 10 dollars a month) and it has a 5-hour limit that resets every 5 hours. I haven’t subscribed to any AI coding service before, so this would be my first paid tool. The thing is, Copilot Pro gives you around 300 premium requests per month, which actually fits my usage pattern way better. For someone like me who does burst coding on weekends and nights, those 300 requests feel like plenty. The 5-hour reset on Claude Code is interesting for people working longer standard work hours, where you’d naturally have fresh limits coming back throughout the day. But for casual burst coding like mine, the Copilot model just makes more sense. I guess I’m wondering if there are actually compelling reasons to go with Claude Code instead? What would make you choose Claude Code over Copilot? Are there specific workflows or use cases where Claude’s approach is significantly better than what Copilot offers? Or am I overthinking this and should just stick with Copilot Pro if it matches my usage pattern better? Thanks for any insights from people who’ve made this choice! submitted by /u/EyeBlech2000
