With the new blog Jagex seems like they’re not planning any more fundamental base changes for sailing combat in the near future, the issue is sailing combat still isn’t anywhere near good in my opinion. Now here comes my question, why is sailing trying to be so many different things with arguably middling results? It’s trying to be a combat skill, fishing 2.0, agility 2.0, uber eats, water slayer, afk gathering simulator. To me it feels like jagex bit off way more than they can chew which is kind of weird since rs3 has a pretty good formula for new skills which is standalone content that supports other skills in a lot of cool and different ways. In addition it’s really weird to me how in the blog they say “sailing isn’t a combat skill” yet we’re adding more boat combat with increasing complexity? What about when they add bosses in the ocean that require sailing? Is it still not a combat skill? What is it then? submitted by /u/MeHugeRat
