Example, I used to go to the gym & I do miss it/intend to go back. One mistake I made was not having a consistent diet so even though I was building muscles in my arms, I was still gaining fat at the same time. Now I’m in a position where I have a lot of free time but my finances aren’t what I need to go back to the gym AND do the proper diet that I want to do which includes not only supplements but high quality food meant for my specific weight etc I know 100% my finances will go back to what I need because of a work venture coming up And I know that eating all these foods/supplements are pointless without working out in general & I don’t have equipment at home(yes I know I could be doing calisthenics but I prefer machines in general to isolate the specific muscle groups I want to use. I do light calisthenics from time to time but not consistently) However my point is, I don’t see it necessary to let’s say Google enough to create the perfect grocery list for me right now, if I know I don’t have the money for the gym I want to sign up for I already know where to find this info, I have sources saved as well, but I feel so empty looking at information I can’t immediately put to use That’s like to me, looking up proper archery techniques but I know I’m going to buy a bow 3 months from now Or looking up ideas to do home repairs on electrical outlets but everyone at home is against the idea of you attempting it without a professional This question spawned because of a hypothetical discussion I had at home where the other individuals want to see me actively doing such research for the sake of productivity but I would rather just do this research when I know I have the means to actually put this info into practice submitted by /u/Domonero
