My brother has gone through an unwanted divorce, and nobody can seem to get through to him. He refuses to talk to his friends to the point that they’re contacting me or our mom to ask about him. When you try to talk to him, he shuts down and doesn’t say a single word. He has been living with our mom for the past 7 months rent-free, only has $1,000 to his name, and is now behind on his child support. Part of me wants to keep trying to help him, but another part of me feels like if he won’t help himself, then he needs to deal with the consequences. For those of you who went through something similar what helped you get through this? Was it just time? Did someone have to be very straightforward with you about your situation?
