I have to share this with someone, so please consider this post as me processing my shock and humor. Today I received an annual renewal email for statistical software that I’ve used at work. The vendor wanted to increase the price from $4000 to $5000, with the option of a 5 year lock-in for ‘only’ $4500 a year. I responded with a one line email saying a price increase today was curious given the Saaspocalypse last week. The account manager for this Saas company emailed me back: “When you say Saaspocalypse, what are you referring to?
