Hi everyone, I recently moved out of an apartment I had rented for 3 years, and I’m a bit unsure about how things are progressing. At the end of my tenancy, the agency did an inspection and created an inventory/damage list. They noted a few issues like small spots on the walls and some damage to wooden cabinets. The total repair estimate they gave was around 3000 CHF. I have liability insurance, and I submitted the claim to them. They confirmed that it’s covered, with a deductible of 300 CHF. However, it’s now been over 3 months and I haven’t received any updates from either the insurance company or the apartment agency. I have a few questions:

  • Is it normal for this process to take this long?
  • What’s the typical timeframe for insurance claims like this to be settled?
  • Can the apartment agency charge me for additional months while the repairs are being carried out?
  • For context: I’ve already signed the end-of-tenancy form and there were no outstanding dues at that time. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s gone through something similar. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/realme32
