I just turned 18 and live in an apartment with my mom and 1 older brother and 1 younger and I’m still in highschool. I’m trying to figure out how to approach my downstairs neighbor. She’s probably in her mid-30s and has two kids—a daughter around my age and a younger son in elementary school. I’m not interested in the daughter at all because I don’t find her attractive, but I do find the mom attractive. The issue is I barely get a chance to talk to her. The only times I see her are super quick, like 5–6 seconds—when she’s leaving or coming back home and heading straight to her car. I thought it’d be weird just to talk to her while she’s clearly just rushing somewhere. also when I’m walking to school (her house has a side door) and it’s the way I walk to school so sometimes she’ll walk her dog out the same way and we just smile and wave and that’s it. There is one better opportunity though, we both go to the same bus stop, me to pick up my little brother, and her to pick up her son. I’ve thought about starting a conversation there, but I’ve always been too nervous to actually do it. For context, she seems like a single mom (I’ve never seen a father around). I’m just trying to figure out how to naturally start a conversation without it feeling forced or weird. Also I literally live with my mom so I don’t want her to know I’m attracted to a grown woman Any advice on how to approach this? submitted by /u/Curl-Luck
