For anyone that needs it, to bypass Claude Code’s recent unstable updates and lazy code edits, you can roll back to more reliable versions and the easiest way is running the following single-line commands: For Opus 4.6 I personally use: npx @anthropic-ai/claude-code@2.1.79 For Opus 4.5 (which I still use a lot): npx @anthropic-ai/claude-code@2.1.19 You can easily swap the version number and play around with whatever gives you the best results.
