If an AI can’t say “No” with 100% certainty based on hard data, it is a liability, not an assistant. I’ve spent the last year moving from “Cool Demos” to “Production Reliability,” and I’ve realized that the only way to survive is to strip the LLM of its decision-making power. The architecture that actually works: • Intent Recognition: Use the LLM only to understand what the user wants. Nothing else. • Deterministic Logic: Route that intent through a rigid code engine that checks real-time business rules (inventory, slots, geo-restrictions). • Hard Constraints: If a user doesn’t fit the criteria, the system is hard-coded to decline. No “soft yeses,” no hallucinations, no “maybe we can make an exception.” Why this matters: In high-ticket services (real estate, clinics, consulting), one wrong “yes” from a bot can destroy a brand’s reputation or lead to legal issues. My approach to lead qualification: I’ve automated my own lead filtering where the AI is physically unable to book a meeting unless the lead passes strict checks: priority geography (USA/EU/UAE), specific high-ticket niches, and company maturity. If the logic engine sees a mismatch, the conversation ends or scales to a human immediately.
