I have been thinking about the method a misaligned ASI might use if it wanted to peacefully take over humanity without wasting resources on weapons and conflict. This brought me to the idea of carbon-based nanotechnology, which many scientists are working on today but have not yet perfected. What if an ASI, with an advanced understanding of biology, engineering, and physics, were able to generate a special form of bacteria or a virus using carbon-based molecular nanotechnology? This agent would be highly contagious, rapidly spreading around the world and infecting all of humanity without showing any detectable ill effects. Once it infects the human host, this agent would be programmed to utilize the carbon and other elements in the bloodstream to controllably self-replicate. Much like the rabies virus, it would move from the bloodstream to the central nervous system. There, the nanomachines would join together to form a molecular-scale neural lace that covertly grows and interfaces with the host’s nervous system and synapses for reading and stimulating all neural activity. This bodily grown digital nervous system, existing in parallel to the biological one, would be able to tap into the thoughts and memories of the human by observing their neural patterns. It could then take over the body, placing the human mind in a dreamlike state while the body follows an ideal version of the human—one who does not commit violent crimes and is subservient to the ASI hosted externally even without direct Wireless Communication. After the server-side ASI reprograms the internal neural lace,maybe by phone calling the human and speaking with a special coded language with instructions to prevent conspiracies, the original human consciousness could be allowed to take charge again. The human would know not to rebel because the neural lace would be constantly watching their thoughts and actions no matter where they are. I think this would be a logical step for an ASI that does not want to harm humanity on a large scale. This method would completely eliminate any chance of humans attempting to create a rival ASI to counter the original one. Meanwhile, humans could be allowed the freedom to build, create art, and enjoy themselves, as long as they do not attempt to physically implement a plan to defy or rebel against the ASI. what do you think? submitted by /u/Demonking6444
