I’ve been a developer for 20+ years and my productivity now like pretty much everybody else here has reached a level I’ve never seen before. I’ve been working long hours on my own projects mainly decluttering my app stack by building simpler versions that do exactly what I need. I replaced three Airtable inventories with my own version in about three weeks. It is far from a commercial product but it works perfectly fine and lets me drop the subscription. I’ve built apps to sync devices, a media remote, my own time tracking system and lately I started building my own accounting app to replace QuickBooks. None of these apps are commercially ready, but technically you probably could release them if you were willing to ship something unpolished which I wouldn’t. Are we on the brink of ending up with a battalion of clones? Very similar apps focused on specific features sold for a fraction of the price (or even free) each taking a tiny slice of the market? I can’t be the only one thinking you could release almost anything in a decent state now (and I’m trying to be very conservative here) in maybe two months? EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to mention, it’s not only about Claude Code. Just any model, and the ones coming. submitted by /u/4_max_4
