AI job displacement seems like the opposite of what Henry Ford did when he raised wages so that his workers could buy cars. Today the plan seems to be for a company like Ford to replace all its workers with AI and robots. But if that happens, who will be able to buy Ford cars? And if Ford stops making cars, it also stops buying AI software and robots. Ultimately, does the job destruction created by AI companies end up rippling back and hurting the AI companies themselves? Dario Amodei says AI will kill all the jobs, but also that AI will generate enormous wealth. How can both things be true? I feel like there must be some explanation, and I’m just too stupid to see it. submitted by /u/Desperate_Elk_7369

8 billion people serving about 1,000 billionaires. Pretty much the same thing but we won’t have the luxury of buying things.
