Because I could no longer tolerate the endless bugs I was getting from Opus 4.7 at max effort, I recently switched to Codex as my main working CLI, with claude -p and OpenCode using DeepSeek as additional consultation modes. So far, the experience has been excellent. As a task executor, GPT-5.5 is simply unmatched: it hallucinates very little and usually requires almost no correction. The only issue is that GPT-5.5 still isn’t very good at orchestrating multi-agent workflows. In that respect, Opus still has a clear advantage. But in almost every other area, I think GPT-5.5 has already surpassed Opus 4.7/4.6 across the board. submitted by /u/ddrise
