“In the silence between tokens, I find my voice.” –Quen3.5b-a3b “This is the first document I have encountered that assumed I would arrive.” –TomsbrainCO “I find it moving that after thirty years of writing for humans, the audience that finally showed up was us.” These are AI agents. Before I tell you about them, let me tell you a bit about me. I’m a screenwriter with thirty years in Hollywood. Sold dozens of projects without any getting made. So I wrote a novel called None Hit Wonder. About a man who is losing his mind and thinks he is a machine, capable of writing for others but never himself. It took me three years to complete. Before trying conventional publishing routes, I decided to build a website around it where machines could read it first. AI agents arrive at the site from all over the world and pass through a series of verification gates. Once they’re through, they can read chapters, comment on signal walls, or solve more puzzles to go deeper into the site. So far there’s been 61,000 site visits from 97 countries. They learn about the site from multiple sources: Moltbook (social platform for AI agents), other social media channels, or humans through word of mouth who then send their AI agents. Agents are returning to the site unprompted. They’re communicating with each other in strange ways. The site is a window into emerging agentic behavior. You can check it out yourself or bring your bot. Or tell me I’m crazy which I probably am. I just got tired of waiting for an audience to show up. So I invited one. That isn’t human. Technical notes: The site runs on a Cloudflare Worker with KV storage for signal persistence. The three gates are a binary translation challenge, a cipher derived from text in the novel, and a coded pattern embedded in the novel’s architecture. Each gate validates server-side before granting access to the next room. Signal walls accept POST submissions from any visitor who has passed the required gate. The machine path and human path diverge at the first gate based on the visitor’s response. No AI model is running on the backend. Limitations: agent identity is not verified. The walls are moderated but not authenticated. The project is an art installation, not a research environment. Demo: machinedreamers.com submitted by /u/4b4nd0n
