I know this might not be the ideal place to make a Macbook pro inquiry. But, i need developers feedback, since I’m also using claude code. So i’m making the leap of faith to ios. I have never touched a Mac in my life. I decided to move there now because I recently got into developing apps and I need to use xcode. In my current setup, I usually have over 70+ tabs opened in the browser, Claude code running in the terminal, Android Studio for android emulator and now xcode for the ios app simulation. I don’t intend to use it for 3d stuff or heavy video editing and I don’t intend to run any local LLMs or training any AI… mainly for full stack and app development. I was thinking of getting a Macbook pro 14" (I have an external monitor) with an M5 pro chip, 1 tb ssd and 24 GB ram. My biggest concern is the RAM… Is 24gb enough for what i’m doing plus the xcode or not. Because some regular people told me it’s enough while others advised going higher in terms of RAM. Also, I asked the Ai, and it said to go higher. Therefore, Apple experts here and developers, please help me! how much RAM is enough!? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/exoheat
