How is anyone here optimistic about AI when it’s been a net negative so far It’s taken away jobs, it’s already been verifiably used to bomb/assassinate people, it’s messing up the world economy and energy What hope is there of this not just getting worse? I used to be hyped up about AI a year or two ago but after seeing how it’s been a net negative, I am now firmly on the anti-AI side The idea of AGI/ASI is great but knowing the evil type of people in control of it, yeah that’s gonna turn out terrible submitted by /u/dseal78
