I’ve been a pants guy for 7 months. SEVEN MONTHS. And this morning it was 45 degrees out. Not cold, not warm — just… meh. I’ve been patient. I’ve layered, and unlayered. I’ve tried different socks, different shoes. I’ve even tried different underwear. But today was the last straw. It’s almost May. It should be warmer. That’s not a controversial statement. The sun is up there. It knows what month it is. This is simply not acceptable performance for late spring and I will not be tolerating it further. I’ve heard shorts are more consistent. I’ve even heard shorts can help me feel like it’s summer — the good ol’ days are coming soon, and a guy on the internet told me wearing shorts will help. That’s enough for me. I’m done deliberating. Will I miss pants? Perhaps. But I am a professional and I need legwear that works. I cannot be blocked by pants. The ROI simply isn’t there anymore. I’ll report back in 72 hours with my full findings and a thermal comfort analysis. Actually, I’ll beat that. 6 hours. Surely 6 hours is enough to prove how definitively the switch to shorts will repudiate my 7 months of experience in pants. (Mods: I recognize this is a coding subreddit and not a legwear subreddit, but given the sheer volume of posts where people announce they are switching tools, with “reasoning”, this feels extremely on-topic. Please advise.) submitted by /u/Exotic-Anteater-4417
