Although I’ve dated, I haven’t lived with a woman since my divorce. Recently my girlfriend and I have been talking about her moving in when her lease is up in a couple of months. Right now she’s paying almost $3000/month for rent, utilities, and insurance. I suggest she pays me $1000/month and she got offended, accusing me of trying to make money off of her. The thing is that $1000 doesn’t even cover my property tax, much less anything else. She’s offering to split utilities, which comes out to about $500/month. For context, she’s currently living in a 2BR apartment and about an hour from her work. My house has 5BR, in one of the best neighborhoods in the city, and about 15 minutes from her work.
