Almost everyone I speak to about AI has nothing but negative things or nothing to say at all. I have tried so many times with so many people to show them how AI can significantly & easily improve their daily lives, even if they’re not into technology. Nobody cares. They blow me off and ignore me and then I feel like a fool. Look, I understand all of the negative sides of AI. I’ve heard all the arguments and reasonings. I do see that side of the coin. I’m just trying to look at the big picture here. Yea, AI definitely has its downsides, but so does literally every single other thing in human history and in the entire known universe. Nothing is 100% perfect. How do you think people felt during the industrial revolution? I’ll tell you. It was strikingly similar to what is happening today with AI. In the 1800s there were literally people who were scared that steam engines were “monsters” that would eventually destroy the natural order of things. Overall public reaction was a mix of wonder, fear and violent resistance, just like it is today with AI. In the UK, textile workers famously smashed power looms and burned factories all in protest of the loss of their “specialized skills” and the replacement of fair wages with “low-paid machine labor”. Now tell me, are we worse off today because of the industrial revolution or are we better for it? If you think we’re worse off, then honestly, I don’t know what to tell you. Obviously we are much better off for it. Again, yes there are downsides to it, just like with everything. But overall, I’d argue we’re much better off because of it. It helped us evolve as a species. To learn and grow and be better. It took time (over 10 years), but eventually humans adapted and we moved into the future of our evolution. The world is changing, it’s scary, and I hear you. And yea, AI might one day kill us all, but until that day AI is literally the single greatest tool & resource in the history of mankind. So why not benefit from it? I do, every single day. Not to generate images and videos, but to Learn . To Grow . To Adapt . To be Better . It’s a tool, use it as such. If you disagree with me and flat out refuse to use AI, then well, it’s your loss, honestly. submitted by /u/X_T-MaL_791

The industrial revolution (i.e. invention of the steam engine) is widely attributed to the rapid climate warming of the last two centuries soo… nice try, Claude.
