Today I burned through 67% of my 5 hour limit in 2 fairly simple prompts, and 100% in under 15 minutes. I instantly canceled my subscription like many others. (just look at google trends data for searches on “cancel claude subscription”) But I think this is part of the plan. They know it’s absurd and unusable. They are struggling to meet demand, so something’s gotta give, and enterprise users are VASTLY more valuable. I don’t think they make much from regular claude subscription users. So this is probably a way to free up some capacity for the users they actually care about. The exact same thing is going on with hardware. It’s just not worth making consumer stuff anymore because corporations are willing to pay so much for AI related resources. What do you think? Is there a path we can go down that ends with regular people being able to benefit from AI technology too?
