With some friends we believe that the importance of AI in the next future is chronically underestimated in Switzerland and in Europe, and we have started an initiative to raise awareness on the topic and demand political action. We would like Switzerland and other voluntary countries to form a shared fund to jointly invest in local AI companies and research centers (as it happened very successfully for CERN) at large scales. Much larger than what it is being done now. We are doing it on a voluntary basis, and I would like some advice on how to do this in Switzerland. I lived in Switzerland for 10 years and live near Zürich, I don’t speak german though, only english/french/italian. What would you do? We thought the following:
- going to universities to talk to students
- print flyers
- contact local politicians
- stop people in the streets What do you think? Is this well perceived (especially talking to people in the streets)? Are local politicians usually sensible to these topics? Thanks! submitted by /u/Silver_Procedure538
