As the title says, I’m a long-time Claude Code user and I’ve always been singing its praise. I’ve dabbled from time to time with Codex but around October of last year when CC pulled ahead by leaps and bounds, I cancelled my openai subscription and went full bore CC/Anthropic. It’s definitely served me well. However, recently it doesn’t seem to perform as good as it did from the Jan-Feb time-frame. Hell, I don’t even use 4.7, I’ve been sticking to 4.6. IMO 4.7 is the most pessimistic little cry-baby on earth. My first tests with it were horrific, it literally jacked my code up. Today, I put Codex 5.5 to the test and I have to say, I’m very impressed. It’s faster I think now than CC and it’s been easily fixing code and bugs/challenges that sometimes CC would go in circles on. I’m on max for $105/month and just subbed to the $20 pro Codex plan and will test it the rest of this month to see if and when I hit any limits. Limits aren’t an issue with me on CC, maybe because I’ve rolled back to previous versions and stick to 4.6, not sure. For me its about good clean working code and speed … and not having to fight with it so much, and so far Codex is winning by a wide margin on that front. If it continues for the rest of the month, I’ll cancel CC, go with Codex and stick $80 in my pocket per month … which these days is significant :) Happy vibe coding ~ Cheers! submitted by /u/nugTapOfficial
