I received a package today via Planzer that had been announced in advance by email (Amazon order). The settings for my address listed “leave at the door.” It is actually prohibited to have this option selected automatically without the recipient explicitly confirming and agreeing that the delivery service will no longer assume responsibility for a lost package. FYI: if the package is placed in the mailbox, liability transfers to the recipient. If the package is left outside the mailbox without the recipient’s consent, the sender or the delivery service is liable in the event of theft. Anyway, I then selected that the package should be handed over from the delivery person to the recipient. That cost me 2 francs. I had no option to select that the package be placed in the mailbox. In my opinion, this is an unethical business practice that can be reported to SECO. In the end, no one rang the doorbell, and the package was simply left in the mailbox. submitted by /u/njeri123
