This weekend, I tried to empirically measure the exact amount of usage you get on different coding plans, like Claude Pro($20), ChatGPT Plus($20), GLM Lite($18), and Kimi moderato($20). It turns out that Claude is fastest of them all. 7x-8x discounted compared to their API pricing 10x more expensive per token than all. I measured exactly how many input, output and cached tokens when you deplete the usage of each plan. You get about $5 of usage per a 5-hour window, and about 8 full sessions per week, so that gives you about $40 of weekly usage. Overall you get $160 of monthly usage if you’re exhausting your weekly limits, which is still a very good deal, but it could get further restricted as this is something they constantly adjust based on supply and demand. When comparing it to other coding plans like codex, Claude comes out much worse. With Claude you get about 1.35M blended usage tokens per dollar, meanwhile Codex gives you 12.5M per dollar. If you’re switching over from Claude, you will find it very hard to run out of limits on any of the other plans. Blended usage= 92% cached inputs, 5.2% output · 2.4% fresh input. What average usage might look like in a typical claude code conversation. submitted by /u/bilalba
