I’m curious about how many trees are in the game. I set out to find out, starting with Misthalin. For simplicity’s sake I am using the Wiki page for area definitions. I am also categorizing trees based on the logs you receive, so “Dead Tree” is the same as “Tree”, for example. Trees that don’t have a “chop down” option are not counted. So, how many trees are in Misthalin?.. Breakdown: Edgeville/Barbarian Village has 39 normal trees, 2 oaks, 1 willow, and 2 yews for a total of 44 trees . Tutorial Island/The Node has 107 normal trees (+4 unreachable) and 45 oaks (+2 unreachable) for a total of 158 trees . The Digsite/Silveria has 169 normal trees (+13 unreachable), 17 oaks (+1 unreachable), and 1 willow for a total of 201 trees . Misthalin Manor has 89 normal trees (+373 unreachable!) for a total of 462 trees . Varrock has 435 normal trees (+1 unreachable), 67 oak (+1 unreachable), 5 willows, and 8 yews for a total of 517 trees . Lumbridge/Draynor has 892 normal trees (+150 unreachable), 50 oaks (+1 unreachable), 16 willows, and 5 yews. It also has 8 dead trees it won’t allow you to cut, 13 dead trees that attack you, and 2 that NPCs won’t allow you to cut for a total of 1,137 trees . Total trees: Normal: 2,272 (+23 uncuttable) Oak: 186 Willow: 23 Yew: 15 Grand total: 2,542! Odd findings: The two NPCs that won’t allow you to cut a tree are both near southern Draynor. One is a Guard and the other is Shamus the leprechaun. There are eight dead trees just east of Draynor Manor that give you the message, “Something pretty big must have come running through here to knock this over.”, when you click on them despite not being knocked over. There are trees in the Varrock sewers but no where else underground. There are a few trees you can’t reach just northwest of Silveria that look to be in the wilderness, but are not considered to be based on the wiki page. There is at least one dead tree in Draynor Manor, and at least three in Misthalin Manor, that do not have a “chop down” option despite being the same model as many other dead trees. They were not counted in the totals. There might be some obscure area that I’ve overlooked, so feel free to ask if I’ve checked somewhere specific. Asgarnia is probably the next chunk I do.
