was losing the first 10 to 15 minutes of every session just getting claude back up to speed. same preferences every time. same way i like things structured. same boundaries around what to ask me vs just do. felt insane after a while. i know exactly what i want, claude is capable of doing it, but we were stuck in this loop of re-establishing the same ground rules every single day. wrote it all down once. how i like code structured, error handling preferences, when to ask vs when to just run with it, directory stuff. all of it. have not had to repeat myself since. output quality went up too because it stopped spending the first chunk of the session guessing. if you code with claude daily and you are not doing this yet you are leaving a lot on the table submitted by /u/CodinDev
