Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to set up Claude Code (using the Max subscription) with a VPS that I’m hosting locally on my Mac via Hostinger, but I keep running into a connection issue and I’m hoping someone here has dealt with something similar. The Setup: • VPS hosted and running locally on my Mac • Claude Code installed on the VPS • Using Claude Code via the Max plan API The Problem: Every time I try to connect Claude Code to the VPS, I get an error saying it can’t take control of the VPS due to firewall or network configuration issues. It specifically seems to be failing on port 22 (SSH). What I’ve tried: • Checked basic network settings • Looked into firewall configurations on my Mac Has anyone run into this before? I’m wondering if there’s a clean way to open port 22 safely for local VPS access, or if there’s an entirely different/easier approach to getting Claude Code working with a locally hosted VPS on Mac.
