I keep seeing posts saying Codex has much higher usage limits than Claude, that they never reach the limit no matter how large the task, so DAMN, I subscribed to the $100 Codex plan and GPT-5.5 xhigh with only a 258K context window is draining my weekly limit much faster than my $100 Claude plan with Opus 4.7 Max and a 1 million context window on same repo (Audit tasks). What makes it worse is that the $100 Codex plan currently in a 2x usage promo, yet it still runs out faster than my Claude Code $100 plan. My Codex setup is freshly installed, with no plugins and no MCP, so I’m pretty sure this is not a setup issue. Imagine what happens when the 2x usage promo ends. At that point, it might feel like Claude Max 2.5x, or maybe even lower. submitted by /u/Effective_Tap_9786
