Does anyone else feel like dating after 40 is set to “God Mode” difficulty? I’m 44, separated, and a full-time dad during the week. Between work and life, I try to make time to meet people, but I’ve hit a wall. I’ve gone on multiple dates recently where it became painfully obvious that the other person was just there for the free meal. No chemistry, no effort to talk—just showing up for the check. Is this the new norm? How do you guys filter out the “foodies” and find people who actually want to connect (serious or casual)? Should I just stick to “coffee only” dates until someone proves they’re actually interested? Should I stop try? Maybe. FWB? Is very very frustrating sometimes… submitted by /u/Big-Canary81
