My mother was cold called by Salt and unknowingly accepted a phone contract, which came with a Pixel 9a as a “present”. This was on the 03.02.2026, and as it says in the contract, during the first 14 days one has a right to withdraw. The issue is when we call the Hotline, they tell us we need to give the phone back to one of the stores, and the store wont take the phone because my mom opened the packaging to check out the “present”. We were on the hotline for 45 minutes and every single person on the other side refused to send us something in writing and the last person refused to forward us to a supervisor. As for the reason, they kept saying, because the package was opened, yet nowhere in the contract or the Agb s this is mentioned. When I asked the person on the phone he said, thats just the way it is, because you opened it, you cant give it back. When I asked him where this was stated, he just told me again this is just the way it is and he can’t help me further. What would you do in my position? Another issue that complicates this is that Monday is the last day out of the 14, I work full time and my mother lives 30 mins away, so I need to have her on the phone to cancel.
