I didn’t consider this too much until Leagues, but now that we don’t have Misthalin, it actually drives me crazy how many Varlamore NPCs are just… “Citizen” or “Tourist.” Man NPCs share an important function in the earlygame, imo. Pickpocketing citizens is not enough - what low level monster drops guam leaves and other low level herbs in Varlamore? How about low levelled seeds? We used to be able to massacre Lumbridge, Falador, and Varrock. Not even gnome children were safe. Now? We won’t lay a finger on anyone on this continent. We don’t even harm some of the wildlife. We can’t cut trees in the middle of town anymore. Why even have this stuff if it can’t be used? It’s fine aesthetically, but it really feels like bad design in terms of gameplay.
