So with Jagex’s recent stance on unintended bugs being used for skilling methods that clearly weren’t designed, I think it’s great we’re finally taking integrity seriously. Which is why I assume 3t barb fishing, 2t teaks and Red Xing are all getting removed next update? Take 3t barbarian fishing for example. By abusing tick manipulation you can get around 41k-108k xp/hr depending on level, while the intended method sits around 23k-57k xp/hr. So just casually almost double the xp rates for the entire skill because you’re abusing game mechanics in a way that was obviously never intended. But thankfully this bug abuse is old so apparently that makes it “advanced skilling methods”. Then we have 2t teaks where you manipulate npc aggression and equip a bow with no ammo to literally break the game into letting you woodcut faster than intended. This gives around 78k-215k xp/hr compared to normal woodcutting rates of 34k-93k xp/hr. Again, completely normal gameplay. Definitely not exploiting broken mechanics for over 2x intended xp rates. If this was discovered yesterday there’d be emergency maintenance within the hour, but because people have done it for years now it’s suddenly a beloved community mechanic. And then there’s Red Xing which is probably the funniest one of all. Breaking npc pathing and AI so bosses just stop functioning properly apparently isn’t bug abuse either now. Making group bosses soloable by abusing broken scripting? Totally fine. But only because players decided they liked the bug first. I just think consistency is important. If we’re going down the “unintended mechanics are exploits” route then surely these all count too right? Or does bug abuse become a feature once enough sweaty players build guides around it? Feels like Jagex’s definition of integrity is basically just “does the community like this exploit or not?” What do you all think? submitted by /u/UnbiasedTruth22
