I didn’t live through the dot com boom, I wasn’t even born yet back then. But I’ve read some stuff, and I can’t help but see a lot of similarities. People were very skeptical about web, lots of negative attitude towards it, they said it will never replace traditional ways etc. yet now after 25 years, here we are, and nobody can imagine life anymore without internet. Wondering if the same thing will happen in regards to AI submitted by /u/Professional_Use3723

Eh, the old farts may have said that, but us 20-somethings were pretty hopeful, we knew it was going to change the world- but even with so much potential, it’s still possible for something to be over-hyped, which it was. And when the bubble burst, we saw it as somewhat inevitable, but nobody saw it as the end of anything, more reality setting in.
This AI shit is different. It’s the old farts that are getting fished in now.
