My wife and I feel like home ownership is just a pipe dream, but a condo could be affordable if we tried hard enough. However, we want to have kids in the future. In our experience, to live in an apartment building, you need to limit noise, and you need to limit activity in public areas, like stairs and hallways. Kids suck at slowing down and being quiet. How do you mix kids and living close to people? Is it exclusively parks? Where do they build their sick bike jumps out of plywood if your driveway is a shared parking lot?
