Ok. My partner of four years is just cranky; she has been cranky since we first got together but now it’s worst. She is in her 50’s so she is a few years older than me. When I’m with her, I feel everything I do or say to her is wrong. We don’t live with each other ( she has her house and I have mine). Granted, she is cranky with her family as well. I’m the kind of person that I’m more relaxed find things funny and I feel like she’s more military. And the sex…well that too has declined dramatically! I’ll be lucky to get that once a week and when I do, it’s not even interesting anymore. She says she’s stressed due to the house in the new job, which I understand. But there’s no way that a person can be this cranky so much so often and everything I do or say is incorrect. Every restaurant I recommend she doesn’t like. There has also been times where I have suggested something and she did not want to do it or did not agree. Someone else will suggest the same thing and she would agree and say it’s a good idea. Today I was at her place. I have brought my lawnmower and did her lawn. Usually when I cut it, I’m not the kind of person to pick up the leaves that are scattered around. She knows I hate doing your maintenance, but I do it for her. It’s very windy so the wind was taking it anyways. On top of that, it was not even much; usually in less than an hour, it’s gone. Could I have done better? Sure I agree. Maybe if I bought a blower it would be easier but I don’t use that so I have not invested in one. So instead of thanking me for cutting the grass, she gives me an attitude about leaving the pieces of grass on the sidewalk. Now I could understand this, ok I get it. For me the problem was the way she conveyed the message. Just with a very bitchy attitude and rude sarcasm. Instead of telling me like “hey, keep picked that up because I don’t like it?” it was more like “ are you serious? Imagine if I walked out and I had seen that mess!” But she says this in such a rude way, which makes me feel that she believes I am beneath her, or I should bow down to her when she commands. I just walked out and came home. Forget about that. Anyways, just venting. Let me know what you guys think of this. submitted by /u/Kenswick
